M. Rashid was raised in Oakland California and has graced a few stages as a performer. He has been a poet, a rapper, acted, a songwriter, a singer in two bands, has done a little stand-up and more recently settled into creative story writing. Those who know him best know that at any moment something creative is usually brewing inside of him. He may not always say what he’s thinking but the smirk on his face is often an indicator that it is something that should make you laugh or engage your intellect. His journey to writing began as a songwriter and steadily grew into a passion for writing novels. It is the reader’s emotional connection to a character or reaction to a word, phrase or situation that motivates M. Rashid to continue to better his story telling and give his reader’s just like his friends…something to react too.
